Almost Done

I finally got my controller to work in-game by using this guide. Unfortunately, my original raspberry pi is broken, so I have to borrow a different one until i get a new one. Right now, I am trying to figure out how to save my game progress. As soon as i can get that done, I am pretty much finished the project.

Emulator is working

I was finally able to get the emulator to work by re-loading the raspbian operating system on to my SD card, and following the steps from this guide on the retro pie website. Using the original guide, I was able to get a ROM for the game "Donkey Kong Country" to work on the emulator. The USB controller worked in the emulator program, however i was not able to make it work in the actual game. I will continue to work on getting the controller to function properly. 

More Problems

I have been unable to get the game emulator to work correctly on the raspberry pi. The emulator has been loaded onto the SD card. When i start up my raspberry pi, it brings up a title screen for the emulator, and then the screen goes black and nothing happens...

I will work to solve this problem. I have already tried re-loading the emulator onto the SD card, so I am not entirely sure what i should do next. I have followed the instructions closely, and it does not mention this problem on that page.

Day 2

For unknown reasons, I was unable to download the retro pie emulator directly onto the raspberry pi, even though I followed the instructions closely. Luckily, the tutorial has an alternative method of downloading the emulator. I downloaded it directly off of the retro pie website as an SD card image, and managed to get it loaded onto my SD card using a program called "Win32 Disk Imager." The next time i work on this project,i intend to get the emulator working on the raspberry pi.

Day 1 of Project

My first day of working on the project was November 27, 2014.

 I started by going through the initial setup of the raspberry pi system. This included installing the "Raspian Wheezy" operating system, setting the regional settings, and setting up the hard drive space on the raspberry pi.

After the initial setup, I started downloading the files that are required to use the "RetroPie" program, which is the super nintendo emulator that works on the raspberry pi. These files take a while to download and install, and I was not able to get all of the files onto my raspberry pi yet.

What Is My Project?

My goal is to make a super Nintendo system using an emulator from the internet,and a raspberry pi as my computer

I will be using the following parts: 

• Raspberry Pi Model B+
• Two USB Super Nintendo Controllers
• VGA to HDMI cable adapter
• Micro SD card
• USB SD card adapter
